Antarte and Azores Collection at Modtissimo

This event, created in 1992 by Associação Seletiva Moda, began as an exhibition restricted to foreign fabrics, quickly grew in number of exhibitors and interest, becoming a unique meeting of the textile sector in southern Europe.

In addition to the exhibition area, the two days of the fair include a program of seminars and presentation of trends, with emphasis on Short Talks by Modatex, a series of informal conversations around themes such as ethics, creativity, citizenship and policies.

In a society in constant evolution in which the words emergency and sustainability have an increasingly decisive weight, Antarte bets on its most recent collection, aimed at the consumer of the 21st century, and which represents the perfect balance between quality, design and environmental responsibility.

The beauty of the Azores is the source of inspiration for this most recent collection and it is also from this archipelago that the raw material that shapes these pieces is extracted. The climatic conditions allow the cryptomeria or the so-called Japanese cedar to develop in a space where, in a natural way, it reproduces its habitat. The irregularity of this tree species, with an absolutely sustainable cut, allows the creation of unique pieces of furniture depending on the diameters of the raw pieces. This noble material is of superior quality, durable and resistant to humidity.
